Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

Vingt Regards sur L’efant Jesus

Saw Vingt Regards sur L’enfant Jesus with the Australian Chamber Orchestra tonight.  Or rather, Steven Osborne, plus page-turner.  At the Conservatorium.  Brilliant.

I felt very attuned to Murakami while listening to it, too.  This current book talks about Liszt a bit, and his Le Mal du Pays.  (Just like heaps of his books talk about a specific piano piece, of course.)  But yes, I imagined myself telling a friend about how this was the best interpretation, etc, etc.  (Not that I’d ever heard it before.  Not consciously, anyway.)

2 hours in my seat without being too uncomfortable, which is a testament to the quality.  Plus the massive run of mucus from my nose that happened yesterday morning and evening (including at the theatre) was not around to bother me tonight – I had many worries about that, and had stocked up on tissues just in case.
