Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

Still Kicking

And if Shakespeare were alive today, do you think he’d enjoy watching the many interpretations of his plays?  Or rather – assuming that he has been alive this whole time, as opposed to coming back from the dead as I generally imagine – would he be sick to death of said interpretations, even the classical ones?  That is, would there be nothing new under the sun for him, and thus he’d find very little enjoyment in seeing his own play performed for the 30000000000000th time?

And what, one wonders, would be his experience of going to London and, most importantly, seeing that The Globe stands once more?  Whenever I hear or see a reference to the modern Globe Theatre, I often think of this.
