Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

Albert Herring

Saw Albert Herring tonight with Opera Australi.  Enjoyable.  Methinks it was my first Britten opera, too.  Though there was that extract from Peter Grimes earlier in the year with Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, but that wasn’t the whole work…

Finished The Cuckoo’s Calling today, too.  And that, too, was enjoyable.  Didn’t see the twist coming at the end, which was nice.  Or, rather, I did – at the very start of the book – but I had been basically convinced out of it by the end.  (I learnt, while watching much TV, that you stand a good chance of picking who the criminal is by seeing who turns up first in the story.  Such was the case here.)

Started Proust 6.  (That is, The Fugitive.)  465/658.  (The book started on page 385.)

Coming to the end, coming to the end.  Only one book left after this one.
