Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

Saw Tosca tonight with Opera Australia.  Oh!  Oh!  Let me have a cup of tea and a nice lie down.  What a masterpiece, though I prefer La Boheme.  And now I’ve got four Puccinis in me, and let them stay in there forever.

Hmm.  What else?

Obviously this is a slight lull before a burst of productivity.  Or a slight lull before another lull.  One never knows.

I wonder – speaking of having ingested four Puccinis – which artistic discipline takes the least amount of time to exhaust?  One could, I imagine, see the standard repertoire of famous operas in a much shorter period of time than all the classic plays.  Perhaps ballet would be even quicker.  Music, on the other hand, seems somewhat endless to me.  Books even more so.  Did Shakespeare, back in his day, find that there was an endless amount to read?  Or was there a lot of detritus and smaller concentration of brilliance?
