Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

Skyfall

Saw Skyfall tonight.  That’s entertainment!, as they say.  Much more psychologically strenuous than the usual Bond films as well.  Plus Q is now a nerd and played by an actor I quite admire (Ben Whishaw), which is bound to get my sympathies going.  Very enjoyable, very enjoyable.  Saw it at Event  Cinemas, on their new “4K” technology on a VMax screen.  (Big screen, plus higher definition.)  (Plus newer, more comfortable seats in the cinema too.)  All very pleasant and wonderful.  Apart from the half hour of ads beforehand, but one mustn’t complain too much.

Name-watching as the credits were rolling, I discovered a fantastic name that’d be great for a novel like Gravity’s Rainbow/Infinite Jest/that-type-of-book: Benoit Terminet Schuppon.  It’s the triple barreling that does it.

Gravity’s Rainbow keeps reminding me of Parade’s End, for some reason.  I suspect it’s that his narrative keeps splitting off into different times and whatnot, where many an ellipsis (…) will change the scene abruptly.

228/whatever.

  1. Hi, sometimes I google my name to check if anything I don’t want to share online pops up somewhere.

Great surprise to find this blog post : )

Thank you for being part of the few who stay during the credits.

Now I’ll probably go and read one of those books you mentioned !
