Some theatre each day keeps the doctor away…

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime

Saw The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime with NTLive today – the first show of their fourth season, I think.  Rather wonderful/delightful.  Won’t be a classic, I don’t think – it was a very specific theatre event, but it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

Also got whomphed with a huge blanket of despair today, after coming home from the play, and have almost crawled out from underneath it after going for a walk to get the endorphins flowing (though I probably wasn’t walking vigorously enough for that to happen), watching quite a few episodes of Frasier and other TV shows, surfing the internet, eating junk food – all activities that distract from that gaping hole, I suppose.

Oh, to be in a rehearsal room working on the play I’m writing now…  Such a strong urge for that today.

Thinking of Shakespeare today, too, quite a bit.  As per usual.  Shakespeare the man, that is, not his plays.  Wondering what he’d make of the modern world – and more specifically today, modern, digital theatre (especially theatre involving choreography and digital projections and complex sound effects).
